Magnezit Group sums up results of the year 2006
Volumes of sales of refractoró products by Magnezit Group in 2006 will amount by preliminary estimates to about 1 million 580 thousand tons which exceeds nearly by 15 % the last year levels.
On December 22. a festive corporative meeting of Magnezit Group Ltd. took place in Satka (Chelyabinsk region) during which results of work of the holding in 2006 were summed up and objectives for the year 2007 were defined. Chiefs of Magnezit Group Ltd. took part in the meeting: President of Kombinat Magnezit Ltd. Sergei Korostelyov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Magnezit Group Ltd. Vladimir Dunayev, General Director of the company Sergei Odegov and representatives of production and sales structures of the Group.
Summing up results of work managers of the company noted that in 2006 the majority of plants of Magnezit Group demonstrated high rates of production growth. The main enterprise of the holding — Kobinat Magnezit JSC increased volumes of shipments of products by 10 % — up to 1 million 340 thousand tons. Plant Yingkou Dalmond Refractories Co.,Ltd. increased volumes of shaped refractories production by 54 % — up to 56 thousand tons. Shipments of road metal by Trade House Nerud Invest Ltd. doubled and reached 2 million tons. By the end of the year good pace of work was achieved by the new plants of Magnezit Group Ltd. — Magnezit — Intocast — Satka Ltd., Wuxi Nanfang Dalmond Refractories Co., Ltd. and Dalmond Feuerfest Siegburg GmbH & Co. KG.
Year 2006 was noted by high investment activity. As a whole investments volumes in Magnezit Group amounted by preliminary estimates to nearly 1 billion 520 million rubles. Included in this amount are projects of Kombinat Magnezit JSC which were financed for the sum of 1 billion 250 million rubles. Considerable investments were done also at other plants of the Group. For example about 190 milion rubles were allocated for development of crushed stone production facilities. Sibirski Magnezit Ltd. in Krasnoyarsky krai and plants in China — Wuxi Nanfang Dalmond Refractories Co., Ltd. and Yingkou Dalmond Refractories Co., Ltd. also received much investments. Investments projects at those plants required financing to the tune of 48, 25 and 15 million rubles accordingly. More than 100 million rubles were invested in 2006 into social projects.
In his speech the Chairman of the Magnezit Group Board of Directors Vladimir Dunayev defined main parameters of Magnezit Group production program and targets for the year 2007. «Production program of Magnezit Group envisages increase of the total shipment volumes of refractory products from the Group as a whole by 12 per cent — up to 1 million 620 thousand tons. Share of Kombinat Magnezit will amount to 1 million 360 thousand tons of products. This exceeds by 3 % the last year level. Magnezit Group intends to hold its leading positions offering to consumers optimal ratio of price and quality. In this relation two tasks face specialists of the holding:continuoust work directed at improvement of quality and lowering of specific costs per unit of manufactured product, — summed up Mr. Vladimir Dunayev. Among tasks facing Magnezit Group Ltd. in 2007 one should mention reduction of costs in all links of production and sales chain, realization of an all-round energy — saving program, modernization of production and expansion of sales activity, further development of crushed stone production, construction of a facility for production of deadly burnt clinker which will be a part of high-temperature shaft furnace complex and construction of the second stage of briquetting department.
